The vetiver is very smooth. Say what you want. My favourite citrus scent and also just one of my all-time, most-loved scents with strong memory associations for me as I wore it a lot on my travels in the 90s. My #2 favorite fragrance of all time. I don't agree with the similarities with Armani pour homme, to me they are they are very different. Life is good. I can smell a vague aroma that I think is the elusive 'Fruity Notes.'. Although traditionally masculine in style, it achieves androgyny in the manner of CK One (although ES is undoubtedly superior). The new batch is like a tiny shadow of the past, it's so watered down it makes you mad you want to cry and smash the bottle on a wall. At that price, its totally worth a pickup, but not at the $60-$75 i've seen them for at most stores. Very classic chypre fragrance, stable, traditional French perfumery. As the mid notes emerge, there are fresh floral notes that float in and around the fading hesperdic notes and the more resilient herbs and spices from the opening are joined by some patchouli. By all accounts and accords I should love this fragrance, and though I recognize its quality and longevity, I just cant get on board with the fragrance. Dior Eau Sauvage is such a beautiful timeless classic. That initial lemon opening is mouthwatering to say the least. It was amazing. Now this take on vetiver is old school, and that is the reason why every young guy or gal say it reminds them their father or grandfather. This smells like the core of Roja's Creation E/Enigma, just without the cognac note. My skin literally drinks this perfume. It is citrusy, green, flowery, woody and a bit spicy too. 15 minutes or less of actual noticeable projection followed by an hour of barely detectable skin scent. The overall sensation is falling into an orchard of lemons, but the accord is deceptively complex: the piney quality of the rosemary mentholates the citrus notes, increasing their 'green' severity, and orris adds its chilly floral effect. Please call me if you smell a better fragrance. July in Dubai is very hot & very humid. I still love it, and the bottle is exquisite. I get a whiff of it from time to time after 12 hours to remind me I still have something on. Ive smell a delicious mossy, soft woody and Jasmin so fresh all the time on my skin. I am not the biggest fan of designer fragrances because most come off as cheapies and made for mass-appeal. Ok so I have been fairly consistent with my love of classic masculine fragrances over the last few years. Im not going to give up on this yetto be continued when Ive time for a couple more wears. This is a fresh perfume which can be easily recognized among other fresh fragrances. I have a treasured vintage miniature, but the current version holds up pretty well.
